Jabari, the baby elephant born September 4^th at Indianapolis Zoo, went swimming for the first time! He took baby steps going in and made sure he stayed close to mom until he was comfortable. Zahara, a very attentive mother, kept a very close eye on him once he started getting a little adventurous in the water. We think it's safe to say, Jabari is a big fan of the water.

Hilvarenbeek, December 7, 2023 - Less than a month after the birth of the first African elephant calf, a second calf was born at Safari Park Beekse Bergen. The healthy female named Ajabu was born on Sunday evening around 11:15 p.m.

Nashville Zoo continues celebrating the conservation milestone of the birth of three critically endangered Sumatran tiger cubs. The cubs were born October 20, 2023, and they are now ready to be named. The public is invited to help vote for their favorite names from the choices below. Each vote comes with a financial commitment of the voter's choosing and every dollar raised will go to the Tiger Conservation Campaign, an organization helping to save native habitats, curb poaching, eliminate the trade of tiger parts and reduce human/tiger conflicts. 

December 6, 2023 – County Executive Adam Bello and the Seneca Park Zoo today announced that Kipenzi, one of Seneca Park Zoo’s female Masai giraffes, gave birth to a calf early this morning. This is the third Masai giraffe born at Seneca Park Zoo, and is the offspring of Kipenzi and Parker, who died earlier this year. The gender of the calf is not yet known.

““This is outstanding news. Kipenzi is a remarkable giraffe and is a great mother,” said County Executive Bello. “I am proud and thankful for both the Animal Care team and the Zoo’s Veterinary Health team for their caring and diligent work this morning.”
