Chuditch Joeys Galore!

We are ecstatic to announce seventeen endangered joeys have been born in Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s new Chuditch conservation breeding program in their new Taronga Sanctuary in Dubbo.

A mere three months after beginning this breeding program, keepers have checked pouches and found two females with six joeys and one with five!

Found in only 5% of its former range, the Chuditch is one of the top 20 priority mammals for conservation under the Threatened Species Strategy so Taronga is so excited to help re-wild this incredible species back to where it once roamed.

By visiting our the two Taronga sites in Dubbo and Sydney, you directly contribute to the success of the incredible conservation programs which are #forthewild
