A baby Bornean Orangutan was born on August 4 in the outdoor habitat at Bioparc Fuengirola. At the time of its birth, it was the only baby born in the European orangutan conservation program during the previous 12 months.
Bioparc Fuengirola has been collaborating in the conservation of the Borneo orangutan since 2001. Once again, Suli, who had her first calf in 2016, proves to be a good mother. From day one, visitors who come to learn about rainforest life at Bioparc can observe the group of Borneo orangutans at the facility with the new family member. They may also enjoy the games and pirouettes of Saba, another small orangutan, with whom, very soon, the baby will begin to play.
