Nubian goat kids were born April 8 in The Indianapolis Zoo's Encounters area.  The one on the right (first photo) is a male named Domino and the one on the left is a female named Polka Dot.  Mom is named Spot! Anglo-Nubian goats originated in England as a cross between the Old English Milch Goat and the Zariby and Nubian bucks imported from India, Russia, and Egypt.

St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park has over twenty species of crocodilians. These baby dwarf crocodiles are among the smallest, reaching just under five feet when fully grown. Here we get an inside look at one of the Farm's baby crocs as it hatches.

ZooAmerica recently welcomed sixteen tiny black-tailed prairie dogs. Highly social animals, prairie dogs frequently visit one another and greet by rubbing snouts, which people compare to a kiss.

 

This little baboon was born earlier this month at the UK's Paignton Zoo. Baby baboons weigh only a couple of pounds but are often quite bold despite their small size.

Baby Silver Foxes at Denmark's Munkholm Zoo take in the rays while Dad stands guard. Silver Foxes' unique coloring is actually a genetic adaptation. Thanks to Linzse for these photos from only two days ago.

Markhors are endangered goat-antelopes indigenous to Central Asia. These little babies were born a few weeks ago at the LA Zoo. While the babies look similar to those of domestic goats, adults have long twisting horns, which make them quite distinct.

 

 

The Como Zoo welcomed a baby giraffe to mother "Clover" early last week. The 152 lb. male calf was born with some major health complications but veterinarians say he is recovering well and should be on display any day now.
